Milliron, Michael  
Michael ""Jim"" Milliron, 74, of Shadynook Circle, Cyclone, passed away Sunday (June 26, 2016) at the Olean General Hospital in Olean, N.Y., following a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 6, 1941, in Kane, he was a son of Lawrence L. and Laura L. Fowler Milliron, who preceded him in death. Jim, as he was known by his family, was a 1959 graduate of Bradford Area High School and also graduated from DeVry Technical School in Chicago, Ill. Following his education he was drafted by the military serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. After an honorable discharge from the military, he was employed by Bell Telephone Company. He began his career with Bell in the Clarion office as a switchman and retired as a supervisor with 30 years of service. After retirement he was employed by Adelphia Communications in Coudersport until his health started to decline. In earlier years Jim enjoyed the outdoors and appreciated the beauty of nature. He found pleasure in camping trips with his family and Little League games with his sons. Jim had a love of music, played the guitar and had a mellow singing voice. He enjoyed many happy musical hours with his friend Bob Hartle. In his later years he became interested in NASCAR racing and was an avid Steelers fan. Surviving are two sons, Jim (Barbi) Milliron of Fisher and Douglas (Lisa) Milliron of Frogtown. In addition to his sons, he also has four grandchildren: Frances, Aron, Riley and Kaley. There are three brothers, Larry (Esther) Milliron of McCormick, S.C.; Gary (Debbie) Milliron of Gifford and Phil Milliron of Bingham; and one sister, Carol Clark of Smethport. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, and his former spouse Bernadette ""Bernie"" Milliron of Frogtown. Jim was a kind and caring man who never spoke ill of anyone. He will be missed by family and friends. Friends may call Friday at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred from 2 to 4 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Murphy, Frederick  
Frederick J. "Murph" Murphy, 87, of 217 Interstate Parkway, Bradford, passed away Wednesday (June 22, 2016) while in the company of family members, at Bradford Manor. Born Oct. 22, 1928, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Merle and Ruth Leaster Murphy. Murph was a 1948 graduate of St. Bernard School. On May 29, 1953, in St. Francis Church, he married Valrie L. Knapp Murphy, who survives. Fred began working after high school at Bell Telephone Company. On Jan. 9, 1951, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served as a paratrooper during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 27, 1952. Fred return from the service and resumed employment as a cable splicer with Bell Telephone Company. He retired from Verizon after 42 years of service. He was the district president for the Communication Workers of America in Western Pennsylvania. Mr. Murphy was a member of St. Bernard Church, Bell Telephone Pioneers, VFW Post 212, and the American Legion Post 108. Surviving in addition to his wife, Valrie of 63 years, are three daughters, Lynn (Chris) Wycoff of Lutz, Fla., Molly Barbour of Ruther Glen, Va., and Patti Murphy of Bradford; one son, Michael (Linda) Murphy of Conneaut, Ohio; one sister, Colleen Allen of Angola, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Diane Murphy of Bradford; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Joe Murphy, Neil Murphy and Tom Murphy; and a brother-in-law, Frederick Allen. Family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main St. Friends are also invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Bernard Church with the Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor, as celebrant. Military honors will follow at church conducted by members of the American Legion Post 108. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
