Galeotti, Doreen  
AUSTIN - Doreen Galeotti, 92, of Austin, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 9, 2014) at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a brief illness. Born June 15, 1922 in Leicester, England, she was a daughter of Walter and Dorothy Robinson Harding. On July 15, 1974 in Austin, she married Danta L. "Dan" Galeotti, who passed away on April 16, 2011. Doreen served in the Women's Royal Air Force in England during World War II, attaining the rank of Corporal. She immigrated to the United States in 1948. Doreen, along with her husband, owned and operated Galeotti's Restaurant in Austin for 43 years. After Dan's death, she continued to operate the business until March of 2014. She loved to cook and enjoyed reading. Surviving are a son, Carl (Anita) Benedict of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a grandson, Derek Benedict of Hugo, Minn.; a granddaughter, Linnea (John) Foreman of Gilbert, Ariz; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Koller of Maplewood, Minn.; two stepdaughters, Laurie Galeotti of Phoenix, Ariz. and Lettie R. (Darryl) Zwolinski of Alden, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins in England. In addition to her parents and husband, Doreen was preceded in death by two brothers, Alec and Maurice Harding. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Austin Free Methodist Church, Costello Avenue, Austin, at which time funeral services will immediately follow with the Rev. Roger Laktash, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Austin. Flowers are gratefully declined. Gapinski, Bernard  
JOHNSONBURG - Bernard T. "Bernie" Gapinski, 86, of 407 High St., Johnsonburg, died on Saturday morning (Dec. 13, 2014) at Elk Having Nursing Home in St. Marys following a brief illness. On Sept. 16, 1961, in Holy Cross Church, Brandy Camp, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Zambanini; she survives Mr. Gapinski was a Korean era veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a corporal with Battery C 14th AAA Gun Battalion out of Fort Myer, Va. In addition to his wife at home, he is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Carl) Moore of St. Marys and Donna Gapinski of Johnsonburg; two brothers, Chester Gapinski of Johnsonburg and Robert "Buck" Gapinski of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Vera (Edward) Zambanini of Kersey and Agnes Tassone of Johnsonburg; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, with the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg. Gault, Shirley  
SMETHPORT - Shirley Mansfield Gault of Smethport passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home (Dec. 13, 2014). Born Jan. 19, 1932, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Lewis and Muriel Mansfield. On Oct. 25, 1952, she married Robert Gault Jr. in the Gold Community Church. She worked at Smethport Elementary School for more than 20 years and retired as office manager in 1993. Shirley served as a Girl Scout leader, visited shut-ins/nursing homes and was an active member of the Red Hat Society and United Methodist Church. Mostly, she was devoted to her family. Most of her children, Janel (Kurt) Raymond, Margaret (Robert) Gault McCutcheon, Lorene (Victor) Gault de Bil, Heather (Dean) Wagenbrenner; grandchildren, Timothy (Annemarie) Woodruff, Jason (Melanie) Woodruff, R. Ryan (Adrianna) Woodruff, Abigail Raymond, Robby (Wendy) McClung, Heather (Timmy) Hurt, Chad Hess, Chelsea, Brianna, Cameron, Shannon and Liam Wagenbrenner; and great-grandchildren, Ivy and Ian Woodruff, Rob, Brian, Danny and Anthony Smith, Sophia, Emma and Joseph Woodruff, Birch Woodruff, Cade McClung, Hailey and Christopher Hurt gathered this past summer for a celebration of life of their beloved family matriarch. She is survived by her brother, James Mansfield; and sister-in-law, Betty Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gault Jr.; her brothers, Donald, John and Ted Mansfield; and sisters-in-law, Aleta and Joanne Mansfield. A memorial service and visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 28 at the United Methodist Church of Smethport. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and the funeral service at 3 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., Smethport. Geci, Yolanda  
ST. MARYS - Yolanda E. "Viola" Geci, 95, of 1173 Million Dollar Highway, Kersey, passed away unexpectedly Monday (Dec. 8, 2014) the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, at Penn Highlands Elk. She was born Feb. 8, 1919, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Anthony and Lucia Pasta Salvatore. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Sacred Heart School and St. Marys Public schools. On June 15, 1940, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Lucian M. Geci, who preceded her in death on July 18, 1982. She is survived by two daughters, Florence (David) Wolfe of St. Marys and Rita (Thomas) Wiesner of St. Marys; eight sons, Karl (Mary) Geci of St. Marys, Donald (Char) Geci of St. Marys, Herman (Jackie) Geci of Raleigh, N.C., Raymond Geci of Kersey, Richard (Cindy) Geci of St. Marys, David (Annette) Geci of St. Marys, Daniel (Christy) Geci of Kersey, and James (Barb) Geci of St. Marys; 42 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Geci of Rochester, N.Y.; one daughter-in-law, Marie (David) Bauer of St. Marys; and one son-in-law, James Wittman of St. Louis, Mo. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Wittman and Patricia Jean Geci, who passed away in infancy; one son, Lucian M. Geci Jr. who passed away in 1974; one grandson, Michael Geci; two sisters, Mary Dandrea and Anna Fleming; and five brothers, Matthew Salvatore, Anthony Salvatore, Lawrence Salvatore, Joseph Salvatore, and Albert Salvatore. She was the last member of her immediate family. Mrs. Geci was a member of the St. Boniface Church. She was a past president of the Rosary Altar Society and had been a Rosarian for 74 years. She was a member and a past chaplain of the Fox Township Senior Center and was very devoted to the Blessed Mother. Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church at 10 a.m. on Friday with the Rev. Gibson, Charles  
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - Charles F. Gibson, 72, of 3574 Rhine Run Road, Russell, Pa., died Monday (Dec. 8, 2014) in Warren General Hospital. He was born July 28, 1942, in Olean, a son of the late Norman and Hazel Rudesill Gibson. He was a 1960 graduate of Bradford (Pa.) Area High School and attended Clarion University. He served in the US Navy. He owned and operated Penn Highlands Campground, Russell, and was also employed by Decker Transportation as a school bus driver for the Eisenhower School District. The children on his bus route were very near and dear to his heart. He was a former member of Jamestown Moose Lodge, War Vets Recreation, Eagles and Warren Moose Lodge. He enjoyed bowling, roller skating, boating, camping and will be remembered as a do-it-yourselfer. Surviving are his wife Patricia Senft Gibson; three children, Charles Gibson of Ashville, Thomas (Jinelle) Walker Jr. of Russell and Samantha Walker of Frederick, Md.; grandchildren Sarah Gibson of Jamestown and Julian Colwell and Keano Walker, both of Russell; and a sister, Norma (Charles) Griffith of Webster, N.Y. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Gibson and Ruth Schott; and a brother, David Gibson. No funeral service or visitation will be observed. Grove, Jack  
Jack A. Grove, 80, of 1324 East Main St., passed away Thursday (Dec. 11, 2014) at Bradford Regional Medical Center. Born May 24, 1934, in Bradford, he was a son of the late George "Dick" and Blanche Gallagher Grove. On Sept. 19, 1959, in Bradford, he married Marjorie "Marge" Storer Grove, who survives. Mr. Grove was a graduate of Bradford High School. On June 15, 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Japan for two years as a communication specialist. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 26, 1959. Jack returned to the Bradford area and began his working career at Kendall Refinery, which later became Witco, and he retired in 1997. After his retirement, he worked for local families as a landscaper. He was a member of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church and Quarter Century Club at Witco. Jack was an avid golfer and a member of the Pine Acres Club, the Eagles Club and American Legion. In addition to his wife Marge of 55 years, he is survived by a daughter, Jill (James) Doyle of Cypress, Texas; a sister, Betty Stockton of Rochester, N.Y.; and one granddaughter, Sara M. Doyle. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by one brother, Jim Grove. Family will be receiving friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main St., where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
