Anthony Bizzarro

HARRISBURG - Anthony B. Bizzarro, 83, of Lower Paxton Township, passed away on Monday (Aug. 19, 2013) in Community General Osteopathic Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 12, 1930, in Bradford, and was a son of the late Benjamin and Celia Cucuzza Bizzarro. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where he was chief of the Division of Milk Sanitation, Bureau of Food and Chemistry. He began his career in the dairy industry in milk delivery and graduated to plant manager of the Bradco Milk Co., and was past president of the Northeast Dairy Practices.
He was a dedicated member and participant of Bradford Volunteer Fire Co.; past commander of the U.S. Power Squadron, District 5 Susquehannock Power Squadron; an instructor for Safe Boat Handling and Navigation; a volunteer driver and vice president of Lower Paxton Senior Van Service; American Legion Post 730, Penbrook; Joseph V. Glati Lodge # 2857 Sons of Italy; St. Margaret Mary's Roman Alacoque Church and its Over the Hill Gang. He also coached youth ice hockey.
Surviving are his wife, Rosalie M. (Grossguth) Bizzarro; a son, Steven R. (Hala) in Maryland; daughters, Debbie M. (Jim) Crimmel of Harrisburg and Cynthia L. Cristobal in Florida; brother, Joe and (Pam) Bizzarro in California; sister, Geraldine (Jim) Byrk in Nebraska; and nine grandchildren, Nathan, Brian, Alex, Vinnie, Nick, Kristine, Elaina, Kathrin and Selia.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday in St. Margaret Mary's Alacoque Church with the Rev. Anthony R. Dill as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
