JOHNSONBURG - Benjamin "Ben" Imbrogno, 21, of 30 River Road, New York, N.Y., died Saturday morning (July 6, 2013) at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys.
Born Oct. 6, 1991, in St. Vincent's Hospital, New York, he was a son of Richard C. and Naomi August Imbrogno.
He resided in New York City all of his life. He graduated from the New York City Museum School in 2009 and attended Brothers of Manhattan Community College.
His last employment was with Publicis, a media advertising agency, as a messenger boy.
Ben was friendly with everyone. Our son was kindness itself. He was born with a compassionate heart (We called him a gift from God). He loved music, especially Hip-Hop and R&B. His favorite sport was baseball and he wanted to be Derek Jeter. He liked psychology, and the study of human behavior and sexuality. Despite this, he was very innocent and young for his age. Our son had many challenges in life which he handled with humor and grace. He was beloved by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His passing leaves many broken hearts and he will be missed so much.
Surviving are his parents, at home, his paternal grandparents, Carl and Helen Imbrogno of Johnsonburg; his maternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, Bella August and E. Belvin Williams; his maternal grandfather, Michael August; and several aunts, uncles, great-aunts and great uncles and cousins also survive.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the John Krtil Funeral Home, 1297 1st Ave., New York, N.Y., where funeral services will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
Local arrangements are under the direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
