ELDRED - Connie S. Goldsmith, 67, formerly of Eldred, passed away Friday (Feb. 14, 2014) at the Lakeview Nursing Home in Smethport.
Born April 4, 1946, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Everal and Winifred Fitzsimmons Canaan. On July 25, 1969 in Bradford, she married David M. Goldsmith, who passed away on May 15, 2001.
Connie was a 1964 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and had been a lifetime resident of the Eldred area.
Mrs. Goldsmith was employed by the Sylvania Corp. in Warren for several years. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
In addition to her mother of Eldred, she is survived by a son, Mathew (Brenda) Goldsmith of Allegany; two grandchildren, Nathaniel and Makenzie Goldsmith; two sisters, Rev. Linda (Rev. John) Allen of Orlando, Fla., Patricia (Ozzie) Schwab of Duke Center; four brothers, Raymond (Gloria) Canaan of Winder, Ga., William Canaan of Eldred, Thomas (Deborah) Canaan of Eldred, and Sidney (Kay) Canaan of Pittsburgh; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Goldsmith in 1975.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Ron Emery officiating. Burial will follow in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
