Donald Swift

RIXFORD - Donald J. Swift, 75, of Rixford, passed away Thursday (Oct. 25, 2012) at the Pavilion of Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford, after a long illness.
Born Nov. 5, 1935, in Rixford, he was a son of James and Marie Kellogg Swift.
Mr. Swift attended school in Rixford and Farmers Valley. He was the owner and operator of Donald Swift Trucking.
A lifelong area resident, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest love was his grandchildren.
Surviving are his longtime companion, Marilyn R. Skillman of Rixford; several children; a brother, James Swift of Bradford; and a sister, Mildred Hurd of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Swift was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Soules.
At Mr. Swift's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. A memorial service will be held at a time and place to be announced. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Nurses' Hospice, Bradford; or to the McKean County SPCA.
