Evelyn Hogue

Evelyn E. Hogue, 99, formerly of 96 Bates Road, passed away Sunday (Nov. 3, 2013) at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born March 25, 1914, in Gliford, Canada, she was the daughter of the late John and Lilia Hines Bates. In 1933, she married Curtis Bartlett, who died in 1943. Then in June of 1946, in Port Allegany, she married Ralph Hogue, who died in 1977.
Mrs. Hogue was a 1932 graduate of Bradford High School. She had been employed at Corning Glass for 17 years.
She was a volunteer and member of the Hannum Home Auxiliary and Bradford Ecumenical Home Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as treasurer.
Surviving is a son, Carl (Sidney) Bartlett of The Villages, Fla.; two stepsons, the Rev. R. Wayne (Charlene) Hogue of Fredericksburg, Va., and Glenn (Cathy) Hogue of Pasadena, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Colyn (Ken ) Frederick of Bradford, and Sally Hogue of Smethport; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two sons, James Bartlett and John Hogue; a daughter, Nancy Bartlett; one grandson, Curtis Bartlett; and two brothers.
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Ave. Friends are invited to attend funeral and committal services at the First Wesleyan Church at 11 a.m. Friday with associate pastor Terry Niver officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
