G. Velma Jestes

ROULETTE - G. Velma Jestes, 98, of Card Creek Road, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2012) in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born June 22, 1914, in Roulette Township, she was a daughter of Clayton N. and Bertha Marschner Baker. On Nov. 1, 1941, in Burtville, she married J. Boyd Jestes, who died March 4, 2007.
Mrs. Jestes was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Roulette High School.
She was a member of the Sartwell Creek Union Church, Burtville, and was active in the former Burtville Grange.
Mrs. Jestes was a lifelong homemaker, devoted to her husband, children and extended family.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn G. Jestes of Roulette; two sons, Chad N. (Jill Harding) Jestes of Houston, Texas, and Brian B. (Lubov Martinvoa) Jestes of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Nathaniel, Michael, Daniel, Alexander and Alyssa Jestes; two stepgrandcildren, Katelyn Cox and Raymond Stone; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Donald, Harold, Merl and Berwyn Baker.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Sartwell Creek Union Church, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. LaVerne Howard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Card Creek Cemetery, Roulette.
