Kathryn Gazdik

SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - Kathryn "Kay" Gazdik, also known as "Munger," 75, a resident of South Glens Falls, passed away Friday (July 19, 2013) at Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness.
Born on Nov. 13, 1937, in Bradford, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Atkinson Fay.
She worked for the First National Bank in Glens Falls from the early-1970s until 1987 when she retired. She also worked for the Lutheran Church in the late 1960s. Kay loved to do crossword puzzles, go shopping, golfing with the ladies, and playing the slots. She enjoyed visiting with friends on her porch, talking on the phone and having dinner at the Mayor's House in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She loved her children and grandchildren very much.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Gazdik; a brother, James Fay; a granddaughter, Jessica Gazdik; and her favorite aunt, Jane Carlson.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Lawrence E. Gazdik of South Glens Falls; two children, Jeffrey (Christine) Gazdik of Queensbury and Julie (Joseph) Blair of South Glens Falls; five grandchildren, Karime (Jason) Gazdik of Queensbury, Lauren Blair of Middletown, Conn., Matthew Blair of South Glens Falls, Nicole Gazdik and Alexandra Gazdik of Queensbury; a great-granddaughter, Stella Reynolds of Queensbury; two brothers, Michael (Debbora) Fay of Bradford and Patrick (Audrey) Fay of Enfield, Conn.; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patty and Harold O'Keefe of Olean, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Joan Gazdik of Canyon Lake, Calif.; along with several nieces, nephews and very special friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls. Family and friends are invited to and may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
