Laurella Sherman Hagy Neatherlin, 97, formerly of New Mexico and Riley Road, passed away Tuesday (March 4, 2014) at The Lutheran Home of Kane.
Born May 16, 1916, in Brookville, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy Edward and Olive Laurella White Sherman.
She was married to Albert Schware Hagy and Lewis Neatherlin, who both preceded her in death.
She was a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Bradford.
Mrs. Neatherlin worked for Talan Zipper Factory in Meadville for several years, then moved to Roswell, N.M., where she did custom drapery work for an interior design firm. She later attended school to be a hairdresser, completed her studies and worked as a beautician for a few years. In her final years of working, she went back to interior design and worked for herself until the age of 80 when she retired and moved back east.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Gail Hagy Conley in Pennsylvania and Laurella Sue Hagy (Delmer) Runkle of Cohoes, N.Y.; a sister, Berniece Sherman Newton of Bradford; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by two children, Shirley Hagy Theobald and Albert Curtis Hagy; two brothers, Curtis Sherman and Edward Sherman and two sisters, Lorraine Sherman McMillen and Eleanor Sherman Rupert.
Family will be receiving friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Philip Palutro, pastor of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Limestone Cemetery.
