Mildred Troha Obituary

ST. MARYS - "Mimi" Mildred Fritz Troha, 77, a lifelong resident of St. Marys, passed away Thursday (Oct. 2, 2014), surrounded by family and friends.
Mimi was born on June 25, 1937, in St. Marys, the daughter of the late Theodore "Babe" Fritz and Elva Herzing Fritz. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1955 and married Bob Troha in 1958.
She began working at G.C. Murphy's in high school, then in the main office at Stackpole Carbon Company as a secretary until the couple had five children in seven years. Later, she worked at J.C. Penney, making lifelong friends.
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Troha of St. Marys; five children, Steve Troha of St. Marys, John (Phuong) Troha in Vietnam, Jennifer (Tim) Brem of St. Marys, Amy (Rod) Anderson of St. Marys and Janine (Bruce) Laughner of St. Marys; eight grandchildren, Steve Troha, Jeremy Brem, Cody Laughner, Janae Anderson, Trey Anderson, Tyler Troha, Shawnee Troha, and Sundance Troha; siblings, Judy Nolan of Dallas, Texas and Jeanne Dostal of St. Marys; and 12 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerry, and her parents, Theodore "Babe" Fritz and Elva Herzing Fritz.
Throughout the years, she was very dedicated towards family, serving as a Den Mother, cafeteria mom, Young Democrats, Sacred Heart School PTO member and SNPJ Secretary/Treasurer for 25 years. She was a second-generation Girl Scout Leader, who remained active throughout her life and carried her mother's legacy in the organization into the third and fourth generations of her family.
Her children remember her as a warm and gentle woman with a good sense of humor and as someone who welcomed everyone into her home.
Mimi was a giving individual who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was passionate about gardening, holidays, cooking, spending time on her patio, her favorite color yellow and engaging in her children and grandchildren's interests and activities.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church at noon Tuesday with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, pastor, officiating.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mimi's life. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
