Richard Larson

PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Richard "Dick" Allen Larson, 72, of Prescott, passed away Thursday (Sept. 26, 2013) at his residence.
He was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Kane, Pa., the son of Clarence H. and Evelyn C. Anderson Larson. He was a 1958 graduate of Smethport (Pa.) High School and was also a 1963 graduate of Lock Haven (Pa.) State Teachers College.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. He was a career employee of the U.S. Government, first for the Internal Revenue Service at the National Computer Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., and then for the Department of Defense at the Tank Command in Detroit, Mich.
He completed his federal employment as a safety specialist for the Department of the Army at Letterkenney Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pa., and Denkendorf, Germany, retiring in 1997.
He is survived by his ex-wife and long-time companion, Karen J. Larson of Scottsdale; a sister, Connie Newcome of Smethport; a nephew, Dirk (Rachel) Wooster of Douglasville, Ga.; and a niece, Megan (Shane) Brown of Boston, Mass.
There will be no visitation or memorial service at the request of the deceased. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hampton Funeral Home, Prescott.
