PORT ALLEGANY - Ronald L. Rupert Sr., 64, of Lower Portage Road, passed away Monday (Oct. 21, 2013) at his home.
Born Sept. 20, 1949, in Ford City, he was a son of Roy G. and Melda W. Steffey Rupert.
Ronald was employed by Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, for many years. He was a graduate of Ford City High School, Class of 1967.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose
, Lodge 460, Port Allegany, and a social member of the VFW
He was a fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love of hunting and fishing.
Surviving are a son, Ronald L. Rupert Jr. of Port Allegany; four daughters, Tracy L. (Kevin Renaud) Rupert of Ridgway, Jennifer J. (Russell) Beck of Emporium, Kimberly A. (Mike) Hahn of Eldred, and Rhonda K. (Lee Windsor) Rupert of Turtlepoint; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael J. (Brenda) Rupert of Telford, Tenn.; five sisters, Renee Goldinger of Mantua, Ohio, Patricia (Paul) Faber of Elderton, Dianne Rupert of Kittanning and Donna Barto and Glenna Opalka, both of Ford City; a sister-in-law, Fely Rupert of Ford City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Earl and Roy G. Rupert Jr.; and two brothers-in-law, Edwin Barto and P. David Opalka.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
