Rosanne  Backer

Rosanne Backer, 71, formerly of 147 Davis St., Bradford, passed away Sunday (June 1, 2014) at the Gowanda (N.Y.) Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 15, 1942, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Louis R. and Ruth A. Bradish Borsa Sr. On Nov. 9, 1963, in Bradford, she married Donald J. Backer, who died on Dec. 1, 2008.
She was a 1960 graduate of Bradford High School.
Mrs. Backer attended St. Bernard Church, and was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and Bradford High School Football Boosters, along with her husband.
She worked as a clerk at CVS Drug Store for more than 28 years.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin (Jodi) Backer of West Seneca, N.Y., and Jeffrey (Debbie) Backer of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Nancy (Craig) Campbell of Bradford; two brothers, Peter (Anne) Borsa and Louis Borsa Jr., both of Chicago; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Arthur Borsa.
Family will be receiving friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Limestone, N.Y.
