JOHNSONBURG - Rose M. Wolf, 89, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, formerly of 36 Powers Ave., Johnsonburg, died Thursday evening (March 6, 2014) at the nursing home following a brief illness.
Born Jan. 4, 1925, in Johnsonburg, she was a daughter of John and Theresa Manno Calla. On Sept. 10, 1960, she married Norbert G. Wolf, who died March 20, 2001.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life. She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1943. She was employed by Stackpole Carbon Co. for 35 years.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and Johnsonburg Senior Center. She loved entertaining, cooking and being a homemaker.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Barbara Wolf of Erie; a brother, John (Pauline) Call of Johnsonburg; sisters, Dolores (Jack) Carroll of Andover, Mass., and Stella (Chester) Maddalena of Ridgway; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Fred, Bruno, Louis and Frank Calla; and sisters: Fannie Calla, Ruty Cherry, Madge Casciani, Jennie Calla and Angeline Sidoni.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Church with the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
