Veronica M. O'Hargan Smith Brown, 94, of Bradford, passed away on Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2013), at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born on July 19, 1918, in Greenwood, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth McCormack O'Hargan. In 1946, in St. Bernard Catholic Church, she married Quinton A. Smith, who preceded her in death in January of 1979.
She was a graduate of Andover High School, Andover, N.Y.
Veronica was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she had formerly been a member of the choir. In her free time she loved to sing and listen to music.
She was employed by Zippo Manufacturing Co. for 31 years as a secretary, retiring in August 1985.
She is survived by one son, Brian (Marlaine) Smith of Boca Raton, Fla.; three daughters, Charlene (David) Wilson of Sausalito, Calif., and Shelly Fields and Mary Kim (Stephen) Stauffer, both of Lakewood, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jeff Smith; two brothers; and one sister.
At the family's request, there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held in Colorado at the convenience of the family.
