ROULETTE - Virginia A. Kio, 69, of North Street, passed away Sunday (March 9, 2014) in her home.
Born April 25, 1944, in Clearfield, she was a daughter of Chester and Eleanor Carlson Young. On July 8, 1961, in Roulette, she married Lyle E. Kio, who died April 11, 2008.
Mrs. Kio had worked for Northern Hardwood Rounds of Mount Jewett, K&C Sporting Goods of Roulette, sold Avon and was an avid bookkeeper for her husband's business.
She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and Roulette Ambulance Association.
Mrs. Kio is survived by two daughters, Susan (Kevin) Weber and Kathy L. (Robert) Barrett, both of Roulette; a son, Michael A. (Maria) Kio of Cibolo, Texas; two stepsons, Randall L. (Terri) Kio of Milton and Ronald E. (Susan) Kio of Hughesville; six grandchildren, Jennifer L. (James) Kelsall, Elizabeth A. (Levi) Gordon, Chad L. Barrett, Mercedes M. Simon, Alan M. Kio and Colby L. Kio; a great-granddaughter, Emma Kelsall; a great-grandson, Parker Kelsall; a sister, Victoria (William) Nenno of Roulette; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle; a sister, Irma Lanphere; and a brother, Arlan Young.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Kiel officiating. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery, Roulette.
