Richard A. "Dick" Tracy, 71, of 1436 S. Kendall Ave., Bradford, passed away Monday (Dec. 23, 2013) at the Bradford Manor.
Born Dec. 24, 1941, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Claude L. and June E. Passmore Tracy. On Oct. 13, 1967, in Wichita Falls, Texas, he married Linda L. Bellville Tracy, who survives.
Mr. Tracy was a 1960 graduate of Bradford High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 30, 1962, and served 20 years, 8 months. He served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged as a master sergeant on May 31, 1983. After his retirement from the Army, he worked for Kwik Fill Service Stations, Kenny Stillman Mail Delivery, Herzog Oil Co., Densmore Oil Lease, Bradford Air Cargo and then Dave Bennett Trucking. He also had plowing contracts for local businesses and area families.
He was a member of the Marche Club, American Legion and Eagles Clubs, and a former member of the Rew Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by a daughter, Winona J. (Kevin) Yeager of Rew; a brother, Donald E. (Carol) Tracy; two grandsons, Daniel Yeager and Allen Yeager; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will be receiving friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main St., where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Fred Moore, pastor of the Rew United Methodist Church, officiating. Committal services and military honors will be accorded in Willow Dale Cemetery.
