Truman Richard Howes, 71, of 6 Potter St., passed away Wednesday (Aug. 27, 2014) at his residence. 
Born Oct. 8, 1942, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Truman W. and Helen Kehoe Howes.
Mr. Howes was a 1960 graduate of Bradford High School. After graduation, he worked for Zippo Manufacturing Co. for two years. In 1962, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, served in the Vietnam conflict and was honorably discharged in 1982 after 20 years of service. 
After his military service, he worked for WCVB Channel 5 in Boston, Mass., as a chauffeur for the television executives. He then worked for Plaza Limousine Service, driving for sports stars and celebrities in the Boston and Arlington, Mass., area. 
He was a member of the Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, VFW Post #212, American Legion Post #108, the Disabled American Veterans and was a member and current vice president of the Bradford Senior Center. 
Mr. Howes is survived by a brother, Gary Lynn (Anne) Howes of Smethport, and several nieces and nephews, including Joseph Salsgiver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Howes. 
Family will be receiving friends from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church, where funeral and committal services will be held at noon with the Rev. Thomas Pierotti, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
