COUDERSPORT - Aloysius K. "Al" Drapcho, 75, of Coudersport, died Saturday (Jan. 5, 2013) at his home.
Born on Jan. 28, 1937, in Clarence, he was the son of John and Mary Hudak Drapcho. On Feb. 23, 1963, in Coudersport, he married Maxine H. Kolat, who died on Feb. 15, 1994. On Aug. 4, 2001, he married Kathy L. Edwards, who survives.
Mr. Drapcho was a 1955 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. He later graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in Hershey, and served as a Pennsylvania state trooper for 32 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and lector. He was a past member of Knights of Columbus Council 1355 and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the American Association of State Troopers.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Mary M. Drapcho of Erie; a son, A. Matthew (Andrea) Drapcho of Portland, Ore.; two stepdaughters, Rachel E. (Christopher) Pellicano of Orchard Park, N.Y., and Ashley D. Carroll (Kyle Davido) of Erie; one grandson, Anthony Maxmillian Drapcho of Portland; two brothers, Dennis "Mickey" Drapcho of Clarence and George Drapcho of Brook Park, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Drapcho of Bellefonte and Martha Drapcho of Berea, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; one sister, Marcella Pachipka; and three brothers, Edward, John and Francis Drapcho.
Friends are invited to Mr. Drapcho's Life Celebration with visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport. Visitation will also be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at St. Eulalia Catholic Church, after which a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with the Rev. James C. Campbell, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Eulalia Catholic Cemetery in Coudersport.
