COUDERSPORT - Althea M. Woolerton, 87, of Austin, passed away Wednesday (Aug. 12, 2015) at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

Born Sept. 9, 1927 in Jamestown, N.Y., she was the daughter of Melburn and Vernice Knapp Jeffers. On June 22, 1974 in Austin, she married Clifford G. Woolerton, who preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1975.
Althea was a member of the Austin Free Methodist Church, VFW Ladies Auxilary 7810, of Austin, longtime member of the Odin Grange and Eastern Star.
Surviving are her son Darwin Manning of Austin; grandchildren Jason, Jessica and Jared Manning and Wade Mottern; great-grandchildren, Alex, Joshua and Jack Manning; sisters, June Simmons of Port Allegany and Nila (Robert) Mericle in North Carolina; a brother, Gary (Linda ) Jeffers of Austin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Paula K. Mottern; brother, Dale Jeffers; sisters, Carole Jeffers and Vivian Crumrine.
Friends and family are invited to Althea's Life Celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home", 210 North East St., Coudersport, PA 16915. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Austin Free Methodist Church, Austin, with the Rev. Roger Laktash officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
