Alyssa Y. Hawk, 28, of 105 Hemlock Ave., Bradford, passed away Saturday (Sept. 8, 2018).
Born Oct. 11, 1989, in Latrobe, she was a daughter of Harry B. Hawk of Indiana and Deborah (Tom Palumbo) Cornman of Bradford.
Alyssa was a 2008 graduate of Bradford High School. She completed Children's Development Associate Program, and attended Clarion University, where she studied early childhood education.
She had been employed at Zippo Manufacturing for two years. She currently worked as the Director at Learn Love Laugh Child Care, in Bradford and Port Allegany, since 2011. She loved embracing all the children at the center as her own and loved becoming family with everyone she encountered there.
Alyssa was as member of A.B.A.T.E of Pennsylvania, McKean Co. Rifle Club, and was Cub Scout Leader for Troop, 498. She also volunteered for L.E.E.K. Hunting and Mountain Preserve in Potter County.
Alyssa loved her son more than life itself, and her niece who was her world.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are one son, Andrew McCormick Jr. of Bradford; one sister, Rachael (Ed Hayden) Hawk of Bradford; two brothers, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Hawk in Indiana and Jason (Aurora) Hawk of Greensburg; one niece, Zayleigh Lewis, and one nephew, Samuel Hawk; and her maternal grandfather, Robert Cornman of Armagh.
Family will be receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 E. Main St., where a Celebration of her life will be held at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Blake, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating.
