ELKLAND - Andrew S. Bartas, age 80, of Harrison Valley, passed away on Wednesday (Nov. 25, 2015) at his home.

Born May 11, 1935 in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Andrew C. and Jerry Mondak Bartas.
Andrew served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Linda Johnson and was a welder for Pennzoil in Bradford. He was a member of the Smethport VFW, attended the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Harrison Valley and was an avid gardener and outdoorsman.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Steven and Joan Bartas of Smethport, Donna and Stephen Bunce of Spencer, N.Y., Joyce and Kelly McGarry of Wind Gap, Carol Brown of Bradford and Aaron and Tina Bartas of Genesee; 10 grandchildren, Sara and Steve Durphy, Steve and Sally Bartas Jr., Megan and Joseph Kaziska, Dylan and Ashley Major, Alyssa McGarry, Carol and Joshua Shelley, Nathan Shelley and Tiffany Kinder, Mathew and Misty Burrell, Branden Burrell and Lynn "Micao" Bartas; step-children, Jeffrey Speed of Pittsburgh, Mike and Sue Speed of Port Allegany, Blaine and Brenda Kaple of Port Allegany and Brett and Casey Kaple of Roulette; and six step-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 222 W. Main St., Westfield. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church with the Rev. Timothy Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Bath VA National Cemetery in Bath, N.Y.
