Anna Mae Wells, 81, of 213 Jackson Ave., passed away Friday (Oct. 17, 2014) at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born Aug. 4, 1933, in Prentisvale, she was a daughter of the late John Benedict and Mary Elizabeth Lander Hahn. On Jan. 2, 1954, in St. Raphael Church in Eldred, she married William L. "Bill" Wells, who died March 3, 2010.
She graduated from Otto-Eldred High School.
She worked for Sweeley's Drug Store at the soda fountain for a time before marrying her husband. After her children were raised, she worked at Archer's for 17 years until the business closed.
She was an active member of St. Bernard Church and was vice president of the Catholic Women's Club. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Catholic Widows Club, YMCA and was treasurer of TOPS.
She is survived by two sons, Charles (Stanley Shor) Wells, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Stephen (Lori) Wells of Winchester, Va.; three grandchildren, Stephen John Wells II, Natalie Janet Wells and Amber Lee Wells; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Marie Wells; three brothers, Lloyd Hahn of Hamburg, N.Y., Greg Hahn of Boston, N.Y., and Jack Hahn of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Holly and Bernice Ward; and two brothers, Paul Hahn and Jerry Hahn.
Family will be receiving friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., South Avenue. Friends are also invited to attend a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday in St. Bernard Church with the Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor, as celebrant. Committal services and burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
