KANE - Arthur R. Johnson, 94, formerly of 703 Biddle St., Kane, died Monday morning (Sept. 26, 2016) at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born March 4, 1922, in Wilcox, he was the son of Helmer and Olga Johnson Johnson. On Aug. 23, 1947 in Wilcox, he married Luella D. Halquist, who died in 1992.
Art served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, earning the Purple Heart. He later worked as an inspector for Dresser Manufacturing in Bradford for 24 years.
He was a member of Wilcox Lodge #571 F&AM for over 60 years, and was its oldest past master.
Surviving are two sons, Timothy C. Johnson of Kane and Thomas A. Johnson of Corry; a brother, Laverne Johnson of Kane, and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death, besides his wife and parents, is a granddaughter, Melissa Johnson.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc. on Wednesday from 1 until 2 p.m., at which time a service will be held there with the Rev. David Pflieger, chaplain of The Lutheran Home at Kane, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery following cremation.
