ELDRED - Audrey J. Goodell, 83, of Edson Street, formerly of Prentisvale, passed away Wednesday (April 11, 2012) at her residence following a brief illness.

Born June 2, 1928, in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Sidney and Helen Homer Palmer. On June 15, 1946, in the United Methodist Church in Knapp Creek, N.Y., she married Forest Goodell, who survives.
Audrey was a 1946 graduate of Otto High School. She had resided in Prentisvale for 46 years before moving to Eldred in 2008.
She was employed by Olean Advanced Products for 23 years prior to her retirement in 1991.
Mrs. Goodell was a member of the Knapp Creek United Methodist Church for more than 70 years and a past president of the Women's Society. She also taught Sunday School and for 18 years was co-treasurer with her husband. She was also a member of the Eldred Grange 53.
Audrey enjoyed crafts, knitting and crocheting, baking and cooking as well as spending time with her family.
Surviving, in addition, to her husband are one son, Dale (Cathy) Goodell of Cuba, N.Y.; one daughter, Bonnie (Doug) Stannard of Eldred; five grandchildren, Julie (Matt) Groff, Heather (Jim) Juliano, Keith Goodell, Kevin (Julie) Goodell and Kurt (Mandy) Goodell; two stepgranddaughters, Mary Ellen (Greg) Lang and Heather West; three brothers, Homer Palmer of Indigo, Calif., Sidney (Martha) Palmer and William (Kay) Palmer, both of Allegany, N.Y.; and a sister-in-law, Kay Palmer of Knapp Creek.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Palmer in 2007.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred, where funeral and committal services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with David Razey, a friend of the family, officiating. Burial will follow in Allegany Cemetery, Allegany.
