MANASSAS, Va. - Barbara Kay Anderson, age 78, of Manassas, passed away Sunday (Jan. 11, 2015) at her residence.

She was born on March 1, 1936, in Mount Jewett, Pa., the daughter of the late Melvin and Lydia Peterson Edinger.
She was a member of Manassas St. Thomas United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Karla (Matthew) McGovern of Leesburg, Lori (Michael) Hardy of Manassas Park and Susan Anderson of Manassas; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Hardy, Emma Hardy, Abigail Hardy and Erin McGovern; two brothers, Clayton Edinger of Pope Valley, Calif., and Clyde Edinger of Monterey, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Anderson; and siblings, Bernice George, Donald Edinger and David Edinger.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Manassas St. Thomas United Methodist Church, 8899 Sudley Road, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Leslie Oaks and the Rev. David Forrest officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
