SMETHPORT - Bernice L. Cooper Green, 94, of Smethport, passed on to her heavenly home on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, while in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, N.Y.
She was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Smethport, a daughter of William and Lillie Okerlund Cooper.
Ms. Green was a graduate of Smethport High School and had been employed as a secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, worked for Sterling Oil and Quaker State, and retired from the position of case worker for the Pennsylvania Employment Office.
She is survived by one son, Roger (Sandy) Green of Wilmot, N.H.; two daughters, Jacquelyn Whitton of Warsaw, N.Y., and Georgia (Don) Igoe of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; eight special grandchildren; 18 special great-grandchildren; one brother: Robert (Jo) Cooper of Brooksville, Fla.; and one sister, Mary Johnson of Smethport. There are also many special nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and two brothers of the area, Arthur (Ellen) Cooper and William (Alice) Cooper.
A private graveside service was held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
