Betty M. Covell, 86, formerly of 44 East Corydon St., passed away Wednesday (March 23, 2016) at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Smethport.
Born Aug. 5, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Urban Walaski. On June 12,1946, in Bradford, she married Ralph "Scrappy" Covell, who passed away Dec. 21, 1988.
She was a 1946 graduate of Bradford High School.
Mrs. Covell worked for W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Co. for more than 20 years, before she retired.
She was a member of St. Francis Church and was also a member of Women of the Moose, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, James A. 'Tony' (Anna Liisa) Covell of Nobleton, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Steve Walaski of Clearwater, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Castiglione and Barbara Davis; and one son, Kenneth E. Covell.
Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., East Main Street, where funeral and committal services will be held with the Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
