Betty Jane Deloe Eason, 94, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday (May 7, 2014) in Redding, Calif.

She was born in Erie, Pa., on April 27, 1920, the daughter of Rupert S. and Edith Deloe. Betty is a graduate of Bradford High School, Taylor University and Syracuse University, where she majored in library science. At age 16, Betty worked as a page for the Carnegie Public Library, where she later became director in August 1969. She retired in 1986. Shortly after retiring, Betty moved to Mesa, Ariz., to be near her family.
Betty is survived by her three married children, David (Cathy) Eason, Kathy (Dr. Thomas) Bernhard and Bonnie Reitzel; and by five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Betty will be buried next to her youngest son, Thomas Gregg Eason.
The family has planned a graveside service at 2 p.m. June 13 at McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette, in the veterans' section of the cemetery. Her children would like to invite anyone who would like to attend this short memorial service to honor their beloved mother.
