JOSEPH, Ore. - Brian Fink, 52, originally of Coudersport, Pa., passed this life unexpectedly on Sunday (April 15, 2012) at his home in Joseph.
He was born June 18, 1959, in Coudersport, the son of Harold "H.B." and Cynthia Fink.
Brian attended Coudersport schools, graduating in 1977. He received a B.A. from the University of Delaware in 1981 and an M.S. in 1987 from San Diego State University. Brian was a dedicated environmentalist from an early age, working to have his family property in Coudersport certified as a "wildlife habitat" at age 17. For approximately 20 years he owned his own habitat restoration business in San Diego. He also lived in Lake Tahoe, and, more recently he "semi-retired" near a ski area in Joseph. Brian was an avid outdoorsman and hiked many National Parks throughout his lifetime. He also loved to ski, wind-surf and garden.
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his mother of Coudersport; his sisters, Deb Fink Eckenroth of Emporium, Dawn Fink of Coudersport and Robin Fink of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; two brothers, Bruce (Christine) Fink and Chris (Heidi) Fink, both of Coudersport; five nieces; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, "H.B." Fink.
Memorial services will be held in Joseph on May 9 and in Coudersport on a date to be determined.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to Trout Unlimited at P.O. Box 702, Coudersport, PA 16915.
