EMPORIUM - Carl R. Bailey, 87, of 477 Old North Creek Road, Emporium, died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys on Monday (May 5, 2014) afternoon.

He was born Oct. 2, 1926, in Emporium, a son of the late Jacob and Grace Dougherty Bailey.
On July 21, 1950, in Emporium, he married the late Audrey Housler Bailey.
Mr. Bailey served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Sylvania, where he worked for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Allen (Jeannine) Bailey and Rick Bailey, both of Emporium; one daughter, Sarah (Fred) Jackson of Emporium; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Rader of Emporium.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Grace Dougherty Bailey; his wife, Audrey Housler Bailey, who died July 23, 2007; one daughter, Kay Marie Ramsey; one brother, Junior Bailey; and six sisters, Vivian Carpenter, Ruby Gropp, Betty Housler, Edith Foster, Daisy Snap and Violet Minard.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth St., Emporium with the Rev. James Eastman, pastor, Deeper Waters Ministries, officiating. A military service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the Barnett Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
