JOHNSONBURG - Carl E. "Jim" Pearson, 75, of Dahoga Road, Wilcox, died Tuesday (July 25, 2012) at Kane Community Hospital.

Carl was born Oct. 19, 1936, in New Brighton, the son of the late Harry and Margaret Doyle Pearson. He came to Wilcox at an early age where he was raised by his family members, the late Victor and Florence Pearson.
He was a graduate of Wilcox High School, and lived all of his life in Wilcox. He served in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Ranger from 1955 – '58. He worked for 36 years with Keystone Carbon of St. Marys, retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping and was a member of the Wilcox Sportsmen's and American Legion.
He is survived by his former wife, Barbara Kibbie of Kane, and their four children, Mark (Angela) Pearson of Wilcox, Victor Pearson of Erie, Christine Pearson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jami (Pete) Wyatt of Coudersport. He spent the past decades with his longtime partner, Rosemary Stahli, who preceded him in death in 2009; and is survived by their son, Jacob Pearson of Wilcox. Carl is also survived by his brother, George "Tom" Pearson of Fombell; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, surrogate parents and longtime partner; he was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Pearson; and three sisters, Dorothy Williams, Helen Doyle and Esther Messia.
The family will be receiving friends Sunday at the Ubel Funeral Home from noon to 1 p.m., at which time memorial services will be held.
Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg/Wilcox Servicemen's Detail. Servicemen are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 12:45 p.m. Sunday.
