KANE - Caroline "Keck" M. Swedenhjelm, 84, formerly of West Wind Road, passed away Saturday (Dec. 6, 2014) at The Lutheran Home at Kane.

Born March 13, 1930, in Wilcox, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Bedner Parana. On Oct. 29, 1949, in Rasselas, she married Paul "Skip" Swedenhjelm, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Swedenhjelm, a graduate of Wilcox High School, was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards and polka dancing. She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church and had served as a Brownie Scout assistant leader.
Surviving are a daughter, Christine "Tina" Lachowski of Erie; a granddaughter, Amanda (Jake) Pitzer of Rowlesburg, W.Va.; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Agens of Kane; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband and parents, by five brothers, John, Andrew, William, Charles and Edward Parana; two sisters, Irene Peterson and Margaret Constable; and a son-in-law, Bernard Lachowski.
Friends will be received in the gathering space at St. Callistus Church on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
