Charles J. Cullen, 94, of Summerfield, Fla., formerly of Limestone, N.Y., passed away Wednesday (June 22, 2016).
Born in Little Valley, N.Y., he was a son of the late Joseph H. and Edna M. Witchen Cullen.
He was a veteran of World War II and The Korean War, serving in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army, retiring after 20 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Alveila J. (Thomas) Cullen; two sons, Lewis B.C. (Marjorie) Thompson, and Carl W. (Barbara) Cullen; a daughter, Linda M. Battenberg; a stepdaughter, Constance L. (Eric) Moore; three brothers, Joseph (Julia) Cullen, LeRoy Cullen, and Howard (Shirley) Cullen; a sister, Nellie M. Lyles and a sister-in-law, Shirley Cullen; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Heirs-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, Fla. Burial was in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis, Fla.
Local arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
