Charles R. McGuire, 71, of 277 E. Main St., Bradford, formerly of San Jose, Calif., passed away Tuesday (Nov. 6, 2018) at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 29, 1947, in Bradford, he was a son of the late James R. and Agnes J. Ralston McGuire.
Charles was a 1965 graduate of Bradford High School.
On April 21,1966, he enlisted in the United States Navy, served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on April 10, 1970.
He returned home from the service and began working for Zippo. He moved to California, worked for Apple Inc., then later at Trader Joe's for 25 years and retired. He returned to Bradford in 2012, and worked for Crosby Mini Marts.
He enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He was a member of Pine Acres. He enjoyed playing and teaching music, especially the blues.
Surviving are one sister, Andrea McGuire of Pen Argyl; and one brother, Timothy (Cindy) McGuire of Bradford; his companion Maggi Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Bradford Lions Club on Irving Lane.
