Charles J. Morse, 77, of 32 Oakwood Ave., Bradford, passed away Tuesday (Sept. 11, 2012) in The Pavilion at BRMC.
Born June 27, 1935, in Rootville, he was a son of the late Richard and Elizabeth Dawson Morse.
Mr. Morse was a 1953 graduate of BCI High School and later Williamsport Technical Institute.
He enlisted Jan. 19, 1955, and served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged Nov. 18, 1958.
Mr. Morse moved to Bradford in 1960 from Williamsport and was employed in the office at Georgia-Pacific for 36 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Pine Acres Country Club, Fraternal of Eagles #2432, Blue Lodge #795 F&AM, he loved fishing, hunting and going to the casino.
Surviving is one daughter, Valerie (Stephen) D. Bundy of Bradford; a son, Roger (Maraya) A. Morse of Las Vegas; a stepdaughter, Susan (Michael) Vilcheck of Maryland; a stepson, Shawn Hartman of Bradford; two sisters, Jean Yarger of Clearfield and Carol Hartfield of Modesto, Calif.; a brother, Lester Morse of Williamsport; one grandson, Matthew Bundy; six stepgrandchildren, Ariel, Katelyn, Kyle and Madison Hartman, and Stephen and Ashlynn Vilcheck; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., East Main Street. Funeral services, military honors and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Max Miller, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery. Members of Masonic Lodge #749 will conduct a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
