WILLIAMSPORT - Mrs. Cindy Lee Gorton, 51, a resident of DuBoistown, died Friday (Aug. 3, 2018) at The Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 15, 1966, in Bradford, she was the daughter of Robert Kenneth Kessler and Joanne P. Beckwith Roeder.
Cindy was a graduate of the Bradford Area High School, Class of 1984 and Jamestown Business College. Cindy had been employed by Highmark Health Insurance.
Cindy was married on May 18, 1991, in Bradford, to her husband, Dennis J. Gorton.
She enjoyed going to garage sales, shopping, going to casinos, attending gun raffles and listening to Prince music. Her passion was her children, her family and animals.
She will be remembered by her dog, "Zoey," who she loved to spend time with on the floor.
Surviving in addition to her husband at home, are her daughter, Hailey Jade Gorton of Lock Haven; her son, Anthony Jay Gorton of South Williamsport; her brother, William Kessler of Bradford. Also surviving are her father, Robert Kessler of Bradford and her mother, Joanne P. Roeder of Derrick City.
Cindy fought her cancer with grace and strength, inspiring those who knew her and loved her. She always thought of others before herself. Cindy gave of herself in life and in passing. She donated her corneas to improve someone's sight. She told everyone the reason she was fighting so hard was because she one day wanted to hold her grandbabies. Even though she didn't get that chance she will one day in spirit.
The visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and the funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Dunkleberger, pastor of Muncy Presbyterian Church, officiating.
The family declines to receive floral tributes.
