Clara V. Camas, 95, of 425 W. Washington St., Bradford, passed away Saturday (Sept. 17, 2016) while in the company of her family, at her residence.

Born Nov. 11, 1920, in Ulysses, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Larese DeFilippo.
On June 17, 1950, in St. Bernard Church, she married Nick Camas, who died on Feb. 21, 1980.
She was a member of St. Bernard Church, the Literary Club, Current Events, LaStella Lodge Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and walking, and loved to play cards, especially Bridge.
Clara owned and operated, along with her husband Nick, the Downbeat Restaurant in Bradford. Over the 30 years they owned the restaurant, all members of the Camas family participated in the operations of the business. She retired in 1982.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. John M. Camas of Bradford and Nick Camas of Long Beach, Ca.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Mario DeFilippo and John DeFilippo, who was killed in the line of duty in Normandy.
At Clara's request there will be no visitation. Friends will be invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at a later date, in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
