Coila M. Walter, 96, of 9 Nelson Ave., Bradford, passed away Thursday (March 29, 2012) at Bradford Ecumenical Home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Feb. 2, 1916, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Margaret Kane Coyne. She was as 1935 graduate of Bradford High School.
On Feb. 14, 1942, in St. Bernard Church, she married John G. Walter, who died on Dec. 26, 2001.
She worked at Bell Telephone Co. for eight years, Dresser Manufacturing and then as a lab secretary at Bradford Regional Medical Center, retiring after 16 years.
She was a member of St. Bernard Church, the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, volunteered for several years at the Bradford Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are one daughter, Joan Marie (Rodney) Biehler of Eldred; two sons, Michael J. (Lynn) Walter of Winston Salem, N.C., and David E. Walter of Bradford; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Coyne and Kenneth Coyne; and one sister, Eleanor M. Coyne.
Family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., East Main Street, where funeral and committal services will be held at noon on Monday with the Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
