KANE - Daniel O. Gillespie, 74, of 48 Ohio Ave. in James City, died early Saturday morning (Aug. 8, 2015) at his residence.

Born Oct. 4, 1940, in Kane, he was the son of Frank A. and Reba A. Griffin Gillespie. On April 1, 1962, in Kane, he married Sonya M. Bush, who died in 2009.
Dan had been a foreman for Allegheny Railroad for more than 20 years, retiring in 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel Gillespie of Ridgway and Frank Gillespie of Kane; a daughter, Sonya Olewinski of Johnsonburg; a sister, Kay Chirillo of Naples, Fla.; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death, besides his wife and parents, by a daughter, Gaylene Conklin; brothers, Maurice and William Gillespie; and sisters, Burnetta Morris and Barbara Simon.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc. in Kane from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, at which time a service will be held there with the Rev. Leonard Eastman, pastor of the Kane Revival Center, officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
