WILMINGTON, N.C. - David Michael Burgess, 54, of Wilmington, passed away Sunday (Sept. 8, 2013).

Born Oct. 18, 1958, in Coudersport, Pa., to the late Oran Burgess, and his mother, Marlene Woodin, who lives at 57 Cleveland Ave., Salamanca, N.Y. 14779. Also a stepfather, Francis Woodin, who died in 2012.
David enjoyed many hobbies, such as playing the guitar and carpentry work, and was known as a huge Cleveland Browns fan. David was very fortunate to have many close friends who loved to be around him, for he was always the "joker" in the crowd. David truly left an impact on many lives, so he will be dearly missed but will never be forgotten.
Surviving besides his mother, Marlene, is one daughter, Nikki M. (Jonathon) LeBer, twin grandchildren, Johnathon "Itch" and Tattianna "Ugg," the twins were David's life, where he went they went, all of Wilmington; eight brothers, Skip (Margaret), Roland and Wayne, all in Connecticut, Dennis (Kim), Tim (Kim), both of Bradford, Pa., Jim (Nancy) in Florida, Mark (Michelle) in Georgia, Frank (Dacene) of Salamanca. David had several nieces and nephews who loved to be around him.
His only sister, Debra Burgess, died on Oct. 17, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at The House of Prayer, 122 Highland Ave., Salamanca, N.Y. 14779.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Wilmington Funeral and Cremation in Wilmington.
