KANE - David Harrison McKinney Sr., 72, of 6689 Route 321, East Kane, passed away Saturday (July 23, 2016) in UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born Jan. 8, 1944, in Leeper, he was the son of Harrison and Zelda Pearl Wenzel McKinney. On July 1, 1979, in Kane, he married his wife, Judith, who predeceased him on Jan. 8, 2007.
Mr. McKinney was employed at many companies in Kane, including Kane Handle Co., and after retiring, he worked at the Kane County Club for several years. He attended church in Kane and lived in the Kane area for most of his life.
Surviving are three sons, including David H. (Sherry) McKinney Jr. of Warminster, William "Bo" (Debbie) McKinney of Lexington, S.C., and Michael (Jamie) McKinney of Kane. Also surviving are a stepson, Cecil Miller of Kane; stepdaughter, Sheila (Scott) Lupole of Kane; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Englert of Kane; a brother, Sam McKinney of Kane; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Marion McKinney and Charles McKinney; and a sister, Aretta McKinney.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc. 103 S. Fraley St., Kane. Funeral and committal services will be held at the same location at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert L. Meckley, a lifelong friend of the family and pastor of the First Church of God in Cassopolis, Mich. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Kane.
The family requests memorials in Dave's name be sent to the Friends Memorial Library, Kane.
