ELLICOTTVILLE, N.Y. - Dennis M. Abriatis, 60, of Ellicottville, passed away Saturday (June 8, 2013) at his home.

He was born Dec. 13, 1952, in Marietta, Ohio, the son of the late William Abriatis and Grace Kelly Abriatis, who survives and resides in Ellicottville.
Mr. Abriatis worked as a carpenter at the University of Buffalo and was a carpenter in the Ellicottville and Bradford, Pa., areas for many years.
He was a Town of Ellicottville councilman for 13 years, he coached the West Valley Little League Baseball Team, he was a St. Bonaventure season ticket holder for more than 10 years, and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He also loved gardening and antiqueing.
Mr. Abriatis is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Nancy Schaming Abriatis. He is also survived by three sons, William (Sara) Abriatis, Joseph (Emily Page) Abriatis and David Abriatis, all of Arlington, Va.; a brother, Thomas Abriatis of Ellicottville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Abriatis.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Ellicottville. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Ellicottville.
