KANE - Doris L. Mishic, 88, formerly of Lamont and the New Thomson House, Kane, died Friday afternoon (June 20, 2014) at The Lutheran Home at Kane.

Born Sept. 10, 1925, in Lamont, she was the daughter of Axel L. and Augusta Asp Carlson. On Nov. 15, 1945, she married Matthew Mishic, who died in 2001.
A homemaker, Doris belonged to the Emmanuel Mission Church in Kane, and often held Bible studies in her apartment.
Surviving are a daughter, Christine Rhodes of Brookville; two sons, Tim Mishic of Kane and Michael Mishic of Midland, Mich.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a daughter in infancy; a son, Matthew Edward "Eddie" Mishic; sisters, Eva Novosel, Ruth Carlson and Minnie Ohlson; and a brother, Robert Carlson.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc. in Kane, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Nancy Page officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Kane.
