COUDERSPORT - Edna Tyler, 94, of Roulette, formerly of Coudersport, died Friday (Aug. 22, 2014) at Cole Memorial Hospital.
Born July 26, 1920, in Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of John W. and Edna Lutz O'Brien. She was first married to Frank J. Cornelius, who preceded her in death in 1968. She then married Lloyd Tyler, who preceded her in death in 2002.
Edna loved to fish and camp in her younger days. She was an excellent gardener, great cook, loved to sew clothing for her family, and enjoyed playing board and card games with her family. She worked hand-in-hand with her husband, Lloyd, on their family farm until his passing. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and attending the Coudersport Senior Citizen Center. She was an avid reader of National Geographic Magazine. She attended the Free Methodist Church of Coudersport.
Edna is survived by her son, James D. (Dianne) Cornelius of Lake Wales, Fla.; daughter, Margaret J. (Albert) Chase of Roulette; stepson, Thomas R. (Rebecca) Tyler of Coudersport; 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 11 great-stepgrandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and a son, Kenneth D. Cornelius in 2005.
Services for Edna will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
