Edward L. Kibby, 78, of Bradford, went to join his beloved wife of 45 years on Saturday (Jan. 11, 2014) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Bradford, a son of the late Elton and Josephine Sirline Kibby. On Aug. 10, 1968, in St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church, he married Marilyn M. O'Brien. She preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2011.
He was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church and the Bradford Area Senior Center. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a dedicated employee at Dresser-Rand in Olean, N.Y., for 35 years, retiring in 1997.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis (Lisa) Kibby of Columbus, Ohio and James Kibby of Bradford; two daughters, Molly (Jason) Himes of King William, Va., and Margery Kibby of Bradford; one brother, Lawrence Kibby of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Jacob and Alexandra Himes, and Benjamin and Cassidy Kibby; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mascho Funeral Home Inc., where a prayer service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Gramata as celebrant. A Christian wake service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Cemetery, Cuba, N.Y.
