Edwin A. Patterson, 96, formerly of Bradford, passed away Wednesday (Sept. 21, 2016) at Prescott Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in North Andover, Mass.

Born in New Bedford on April 12, 1920, he was a son of the late Edwin and Orvella Ishman Patterson.
On Jan. 11, 1944, he married Genevieve M. Scott Patterson, who passed away Dec. 14, 2015.
He was raised and attended school in The Scotland, Pa., Orphanage. He then graduated from Bradford High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, served during World War II and was honorably discharged, Dec. 21, 1945.
Mr. Patterson worked as a machinist for most of his life and retired from Bradford Motor Works. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was active in the Men's Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was passionate about gardening and very proud of his flowers. In his spare time, he was an amateur barber and enjoyed playing poker.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Kay Duckstein and Donna (Peter) Fulton, all of Byfield, Mass.; two sons Edwin Patterson of Santa Fe, N.M.; Thomas Patterson of Chandler, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Collins, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, officiating. Burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park.
