Elizabeth Ann Gomes, 63, of Raleigh, N.C., went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday (Oct. 27, 2015) after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded at home by her loving family, friends and dog "Gizmo."
Born Jan. 8, 1952, in Bradford, she was the daughter of Kenneth Shonts of Cyclone, and the late Frances Sidonia Shonts who died April 5, 2004. She was a 1969 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
Liz was the proud owner of Hometown Realty in Bradford, until she moved to Raleigh where she continued her passion of selling and appraising real estate.
She enjoyed cooking, dancing, gardening, painting, volunteer work and spontaneous road trips.
Her most favorite time was spent with family, friends and especially with her grandson. She was a beautiful person who touched so many lives. Her fostering of pets has provided a permanent residence for many critters, including "Gizmo."
In addition to her daughter, Lisa Gomes of Raleigh, she is survived by her father, Kenneth (Esther) Shonts; one grandson, Cayden Lewis, one brother, Ralph Shonts in Arkansas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Shonts.
