Elizabeth M. White, 89, of Bradford, formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away Tuesday (May 15, 2012) at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

She was born on March 7, 1923, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late William and Mary O'Hagan Colwell. On Nov. 29, 1952, she married Bernard D. White, who preceded her in death on May 9, 2011.
She was a graduate of St. Peter and Paul Parochial School of Jamestown, Jamestown High School and Jamestown Business College.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. She was an avid reader who loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by one son, David (Gail) White of Bradford; two grandsons, Matthew and Michael White, both of Bradford; four granddaughters, Danielle Lipscomb of Pennsboro, W.Va., Fay (Robert) Staskoski of Remson, N.Y., Nikki (Michael) Christian of Princeton, W.Va., and Kathleen White of Bradford; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two daughters, Kathleen White, who died in 1969; and Maria White, who died in 2010.
At the family's request, there will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. Dennis W. Mende as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Jamestown.
Contributions in her memory can be made to the Bradford Area Public Library, 67 West Washington St., Bradford.
